The effect of complex trauma child to mother-child attachment and emotion regulation using EMDR parent-child play therapy

Abstract

|
The purpose of the study is to examine what effects the EMDR parent-child play therapy has on improving mother-child attachment and emotion regulation of complex trauma child by parent`s neglect, witness of domestic violence, parents` divorce and body, language, emotion abuse. To this study, children with complex trauma and his mother, 1pairs participated in the program. This program is composed of total 8 sessions, twice a week, 80 minutes per 1 session. To measure pre-post change of mother-child used for structured parent-child interaction scale. also, to measure that of child used for emotion regulation scale of child. As a result, I have concluded as follows: First, the EMDR parent-child play therapy improved mother-child attachment of complex trauma child. Second, the EMDR parent-child play therapy improved the emotion regulation of complex trauma child. Through the results of the research, it is certain that the EMDR parent-child play therapy has a great effectiveness on mother-child attachment and child emotion regulation.
